Remington 788 30-30

Category:

Description

Folklore has it that the 788 was discontinued because it outshot the premium 700. I dont know if that is true but I have owned and hunted with many 788s and everone of them shot well. This rifle is in one of the rarer chamberings 30-30 Winchester. The 30-30 chambering was only offered from 1967-1970. This one has had sling swivel studs added and appears to have been varnished. It includes a scope that was part of a package offering in 1970.

The Remington 788 is a bolt-action, centerfire rifle that was made by Remington from 1967 to 1983. It was marketed as an inexpensive yet accurate hunting rifle to compete with other gun companies’ less expensive rifles alongside their more expensive 700 line. The 788 utilizes a single-column detachable magazine holding 3 rounds for the larger diameter calibers and 4 rounds for the 222 Rem and 223 Rem.
